Thomas Weil, born 1944 in Garmisch – Partenkirchen
After graduating from high school in 1964, he studied architecture at the TU Munich, followed by his own office in Munich.
Collaboration on the Olympic Village in Munich, the Ismaili Center in London and the new city of Shustar in Persia,
Friendship with Hassan Fathy and Louis Khan.
Since 1986 ornament has been treated as an independent art form.
Since 1996, the studio community with Claudia Weil has existed, focusing on art in architecture, creation of autonomous works, numerous façade designs and publications.
2004 the book: Ornament in Architecture, Art and Design, Callwey Munich, is published
Currently, a 2nd book entitled New Grammar of Ornament is in progress with the publisher Lars Mueller / Zurich.
Thomas Weil lives and works in Friedberg near Augsburg.
