On the occasion of his 90th birthday, the Kunstpalast is dedicating an exhibition to Heinz Mack (*1931), focusing on his early work from the 1950s to the 1970s. The show demonstrates the innovative novelties and the revolutionary spirit with which Mack opened up new thinking and working spaces beyond academic guidelines. The selection of around 100 works, some of them large-scale, focuses on central stages in Mack’s career, such as his studies at the Düsseldorf Art Academy, the ZERO period, light art environments and the conquest of landscape space through large-scale projects in the great outdoors.
A comprehensive catalogue accompanies the exhibition. More information: https://www.kunstpalast.de/mack
